Crystal McCreary
Clinical Fellow
Crystal supports individuals, couples, and groups by creating brave spaces to foster connection, recognition, and growth of inner and outer resources that heal and empower, particularly in a world that often disrupts the inherent wholeness of body, mind, heart, and spirit. Her approach centers on: (1) compassionate curiosity about the complexity of the human experience, (2) connection to self, others, and the environment, and (3) reflection on personal and social narratives as gateways to holistic wellbeing, meaningful relationships, inclusive communities, and social justice. Crystal’s therapeutic style is person-centered, empathic, relational, and strengths-based, honoring each client's capacity for resilience and creativity in navigating life’s challenges. Crystal brings a trauma-informed and multiculturally competent approach to treatment. Her work with individuals is also informed by the Gottman Method, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Nonviolent Communication (NVC), cultural somatics, mindfulness, restorative circles, and Hatha yoga.
Crystal is also a Health Educator, Coach and Strategist for organizations and leaders, a Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher and Teacher Trainer, and an actor with SAG-AFTRA and AEA. She is a passionate facilitator of workshops, trainings, and destination retreats focused on transformational self and collective care, and integrating culture-shifting, life-affirming values—such as love, authenticity, creativity, vitality, allyship, and joy—into personal and organizational frameworks.
In addition, Crystal is the author of two social and emotional resources for children: Little Yogi Deck: Simple Practices to Help Kids Move Through Big Emotions On and Off The Mat (Shambhala Publications of Penguin Random House) and You Are a Rainbow of Energy (Gibbs-Smith Publications, forthcoming February 2025).
